RICHARD N. SHIT

“AIN’T NO WAY IN HELL I’m doing that!”
“Why is SHE in my life?”
“I AIN’T CHANGING!!!”

I’ve said these things a million times.
I’m basically a chicken;
a spineless coward, funky chicken.
I’m not proud to say that either.

I remember when my daughter,
at 17 or so,
had been working
in a fast food restaurant
for a couple of years,
and was offered a “nice job”,
with a lot more money,
responsibility,
and potential for growth.

“Dad, they would be so mad at me if I left Schlotsky’s,
I can’t leave, these are my friends Dad,
and besides, they seriously couldn’t cover the shifts!”

I just remember,
after weighing all of her options,
the PAINED look on her face
when she realized
that in order to move forward,
she had to leave.

She changed, she did hurt, but she grew.
“Sometimes life hurts good, baby”.

Everyday we make difficult decisions.

Living in the Light doesn’t guarantee Sunny Skies.

There are THINGS I am called upon to do
that I just don’t want to fucking do.

But, If I can do it, and also stay whole,
I look back and realize:
that IT IS ME
that is all the RICHER
for having done THAT.

There are PEOPLE in my life
that I couldn’t give a shit
If I ever heard from them again. EVER!!!
I wish they would GO AWAY!!!

But when I honestly assess our relationship,
I realize that the buttons that THEY push,
are the buttons that I am too chicken
to even see for myself!

In the end,
I AM THANKFUL.

Without these “Pains in My Ass”,
(you know who you are) jja jaja aja,
I wouldn’t be able
to ride through the streets
with my BIG ASS SMILE
screaming:

“RICHHHH,
RICHH I SAY,
RICHHHHHHHHHHH!!!”.
