JESUS SAID: “GET THE HELL OUT OF DODGE!”

I can only do
what I can do.

Sometimes your best intentions
just can’t be realized.

SISTER LOUISA
was to participate in
an outdoor show one summer,
and it was pouring down rain!
Monsoon!!!

Earlier that same Spring,
SISTER LOUISA participated in a show
with Hollis and Lary,
in which it was Blizzarding!!!
We were attacked by
sleet, hail, and whipping winds.
Artist Booths were flying down the street hitting people!

All we could do was laugh,
as a method of coping
with what this meant
for the success of the show.

So,
the morning of the summer show,
after hearing the weather forecast,
I had found this Dodge truck tailgate
with a “JESUS” sticker on it
in the top left corner.

Then and there,
I decided that there is no way in Hell
I was standing out there
in the rain all weekend!

SISTER LOUISA whipped up:
JESUS SAID: “GET THE HELL OUT OF DODGE!”,
took the tailgate to the festival,
dragged it in the rain,
propped it up proudly in the center of the
$200 space I rented,
and
Got the Hell out of Dodge!

I chose to have a great weekend,
inside and dry,
knowing that
I had honored the reality
that
I can only do,
what I can do.

Sometimes a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do.

Tailgate I left in the VIRGINIA HIGHLANDS SUMMERFEST Sister Louisa booth because it was raining, and I sure as hell wasn’t sitting there in the rain!
